Why did I post this picture of the Kendall T stop? For one thing, I am dying to spend a day taking pictures of the T, complete with motion blur, but I'm not sure I am courageous enough yet. The more great pictures I get, the more I am able to swallow my self consciousness and pull my camera out in strange places because, it's worth it! But I digress. The point of this picture is my shiny new Nikkor 50 mm f/1.8 lens. Yes, it is a prime lens, but it is $90 new and is insanely fast and unbelievably sharp. This was shot at 1/40 under the ambient lights of the T stop at ISO 200. The most striking think about it is how, when you hold the camera up to your eye, it is like looking straight through it--no light loss at all. It makes focusing in the dark a lot easier.
